How does licensing work?

An unlicensed (trial version) copy of the program will allow you to create envelopes, but your address database will be limited to 10 entries and you will not be able to retrieve tax client addresses from your Drake* files, or share the address database over a network with other users.

When you purchase a license to the program, you will receive a license code that removes these limitations and unlocks all of the program's features. You simply enter your firm address information, tax year, and license code in the program's License screen and you are ready to go.

Only one license is needed for an unlimited number of users at one physical location.

Drake* Users:

The Tax Year part of the license information refers to the tax year of the Drake* tax software you are using. If you purchased a license for Tax Year 2022, you will be able to use Envelope Maker with the Drake* tax program for tax year 2022 and all earlier years. If you purchase a program license again for 2023, this will enable you to access your Drake* client addresses from the 2023 tax program as well as all earlier years.

Non-Drake* Users:

If you don't use Drake* tax software, a one-time license purchase is sufficient to unlock the program (except the Drake* areas) and no license renewals will be necessary.
